Flint

Flint (or flint glass) is a term used for optical glass that has a high refractive index and high dispersion.

Historically flint glass was manufactured using copious quantities (up to > 50%) of lead oxide, but due to environmental concerns, lead oxide is nowadays replaced by other compounds.

JAPB is a website centred on photography and photo gear, with a special interest in using old lenses on modern cameras.
